Thank you Spectra for your donations 💚 Since last July we have charged £3 for a basket of shopping, which does go some way to helping with our costs of keeping the shelves filled, but the charity is still having to subsidise costs. So these donations from company’s and individuals are still very much needed and appreciated. ... See MoreSee Less

It was a good turnout for our Chef Amanda cooking session on Saturday morning at Halesworth Community Larder. Lots of people popped in to sample Amanda’s delicious sausage & bean hotpot and discover how easy it is to make in the slow cooker. The Rural Coffee Caravan donated lots of slow cookers to us, that we were able to give out, along with a copy of our recipe book and the ingredients to take away and try the recipe at home.A big thank you to Annette Dunning for joining us and providing visitors with information and support - and for being a big help in the kitchen! Also, thank you to Halesworth Morsbags for proving Morsbags for the ingredients. Finally thank you to Amanda and all our wonderful volunteers who helped make this happen. The last photo was from Richard, who didn’t hesitate in trying out his slow cooker at home and knocked up a hotpot ….. great job! ... See MoreSee Less

We’ve been very lucky to receive some venison mince from the country food trust. We’ve had amazing feedback from our customers, who’ve used it to make lasagne’s and spaghetti bolognese’s. Venison is full of iron and vitamins, high in protein and low in fat. The trust is donating this mince to local community’s so they are able to access good quality local meat. If you’d like to learn more about the country food trust and what they do please visit their website at www.thecountryfoodtrust.org or visit their Facebook page on the link belowwww.facebook.com/share/1CUZqbAY3U/?mibextid=wwXIfr Thank you, very gratefully received 💚 ... Jazzing up this fareshare potato soup to make leek & potato soup for tomorrow’s community lunch.I’m no chef, but this is a fave at the lunch. This soup makes a great base and can add what you like!I steam 8 cut up leeks and blend to add to the 9 tins of potato soup, add it all together with a pint of vegetable stock. The potato soups texture doesn’t look very nice, but once it’s heated up it smooths out lovely, give it a try at home.Community lunch is the last Wednesday of the month at St Mary’s church 1pm, everyone welcome 😊 ...
